NO TIME FOR DESPAIR BUT A TIME FOR FAITH

 

 

Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

 

We are living in a time where the devil through the spirit of the world (1 Cor. 2:12) is shaping a culture through its worldview and its philosophies. Our enemy’s lies are lessening the standards of morality, right and wrong. His deception is removing absolutes and making truth relative. This is no time to despair or to be demoralized. We are never utterly without hope so do not lose heart.

 

When we heard the Word on salvation, faith for salvation came. When we heard the Word on healing, faith for healing came. When we heard the Word on prosperity, faith for prosperity came. When 9-11 happened we realized we needed protection so we heard the Word on protection and faith for protection came. Now we are facing socialist and statist government officials that are using their authority beyond its jurisdictions. We need faith to be able to stand for truth against this kind of government oppression. We are not used to having to do this but remember faith is still the victory that overcomes the world (1 John 5:4).

 

1. Read Hebrews 11:23-37 and you will see in the lists of those who did something by faith in their generation are many who even stood against civil authority, not through anarchy, but through submission to a higher law which is God’s law with their actions being called “faith.”

 

2. Read about the midwives in Exodus 1:7-22 who disagreed with Pharaoh’s decree because they feared God and kept giving birth.

 

3. Read the book of Daniel and you will see how Daniel stood on the truth of God he had against an ever increasing godless and aggressive Babylon.

 

4. Read the Book of Jeremiah where he stood against the kings of Judah, the princes, the priests, and the people of the land (Jeremiah 1:18, 19).

 

5. Read the Book of Acts and see what Christians in the early church did when they said, “we ought to obey God rather than men (Acts 4:1-22; 5:17-42 esp. v 29).”

 

Faith will come into your heart and drive out the despair. Faith always comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God
