ENABLING GRACE

Enabling Grace

1 Corinthians 15:10, “But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.”

Every one of us are what we are in the natural by our birth, by our training, and by our experiences.  We are also something by the grace of God.  Because of this, it is not unjust of God to require anything of us.  Whatever God requires, His grace enables us to do it and makes us enough or sufficient for the obligation or responsibility (Acts 1:8, Ephesians 2:10).

Very often we may hear someone say:

“I don’t have what it takes.”

“I’m not competent.”

“I don’t have enough going for me.”

This shows lack of knowledge of God’s grace that enables us.  We have what it takes and are competent – not by what you have naturally, but spiritually.  You will never do much for the Lord looking at yourself in the natural.  His grace is what enables us, equips us, makes us competent, sufficient, and enough.  Frankly, none of us had anything God wanted.  Both our calling and our equipping are by grace.  Second Timothy 1:9, “Who hath saved us, and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began.” Our ministering or serving is to be by grace.  Grace is God’s enabling power.  All Christians are called to serve, and the provision that makes their labor/serving possible is God’s grace.

God never calls us to do something or requires something of us without first giving us the ability to do it.  He gives us grace–an enablement, an endowment, an empowerment.  His grace is the great equalizer to human inability and inadequacy.  It is His great compensating factor for what we lack naturally.  We need to factor out everything else and factor in the grace of God.  The greatest hazard to your serving God is not knowing grace.  Do not lose sight of the grace factor.  Grace is God’s enabling power.

Thanks Pastor, God’s grace enables us to do what God wants us to do, when He wants us to do it and how He wants it done
