STAY FAITHFUL AND TRUE

Revelation 19:11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.

If there’s one thing that inspires our trust in God it’s that He is reliable/faithful always; He can be depended upon, relied upon, and is worthy of our trust. He, too, is looking for people He can put His “full faith” in to trust with His blessing. Our reliability (faithfulness) is the only thing we can give back to God. God’s nature is to be reliable always, and we are partakers of that same divine nature.

What is faithfulness? It means to be reliable; constant; dependable; trustworthy. It implies endurance, steadiness and stickability, or as some have called it the “grace of grit” because of being tough enough to stick to something until your responsibility is finished. It infers “long obedience in the same direction, no side-stepping, no escaping to any easy path, or fleeing. A faithful person stays at his station so we can put our “full faith” in him.

Modern day Christian philosophies try to use the label “legalism” to nullify Biblical terms like obedience, walking circumspectly, and faithfulness. Under the guise of grace some label a Christian who desires to be faithful to church attendance or to not forsake the assembling of yourselves (Hebrews 10:25) as legalism. Believing in faithfulness and obedience is not legalism. Grace is not a cover for disobedience. So legalism cannot be understood as obedience or grace as freedom for disobedience. Grace cannot be a hiding place for our sins or rebellion.

When it’s all over, in the end, it’s all going to be about faithfulness. Only the reliable will hear, “Well done thou good and faithful servant Matthew 25:14-30.” When Jesus comes back, He could have been described in many ways, (Savior, Healer, Deliverer, Lord, King) but it’ll be the One called:

“Faithful and True Revelation 19:11”

“The Dependable One”

“The One called Trustworthy”

“The One called Steady”

“The One called Reliable”
