Colossians 1:13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
1 Peter 1:5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
The greatest powers of darkness arrayed against us were totally overthrown in our lives at the moment of our salvation. We are not going to be delivered from the devil’s enslaving power but we have already been delivered. Any bondage, chain of darkness, vile habit, or enslaving sin cannot hold us down without our consent. Sin cannot master any child of God who knows his rights in Christ and has a revelation of what Jesus did for us in redemption.
Remember:
1. Jesus died to deliver us from every chain of bondage, or anything that limits our freedom.
Gal 1:3 Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ, 4 Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father: 5 To whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
2. God’s power is able to keep us from falling back into any habit we’ve experienced deliverance from.
Jude 24 says, “Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, 25 To the only wise God our Savior, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever, Amen.”
