Psalm 11:3 If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?
Tolerance as it is being used in our culture today is destroying the moral foundations that made Americans and America great. It is silencing the voice of much of the Church in America as well. Psalm 11:3 says, “If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?” Tolerance from Webster’s dictionary means: to allow or permit; to recognize and respect others beliefs and practices without sharing them; to bear up or put up with someone or something not necessarily liked. I see tolerance involves permitting or allowing a conduct or point of view one disagrees with while respecting the person in the process. A Christian should have no problem with that for it runs similar to the Biblical principle of forbearance or forbearing one another (Eph. 4:3; Col. 3:3). According to the definition by Webster it implies you cannot really be exercising tolerance unless you disagree with them.
Today that is not the culturally leftist view of tolerance:
If you think someone is wrong about anything and voice your disagreement you are intolerant. The new tolerance aims to silence all opposition.
Tolerance in these perilous last days’ means: you must approve of what I do; you must agree with me; you must allow me to have my way and not hinder me.
The new tolerance means we have to consider every individual’s beliefs, values, lifestyle, and truth claims as equally valid. They say not only does everyone have a right to his beliefs but all beliefs are equal.
The new tolerance goes beyond respecting a person’s rights it demands praise, endorsement, and acceptance of that person’s beliefs, values, behaviors, and lifestyle. That kind of tolerance says there is really no right or wrong, no absolutes, and thus no morality. Instead of good and evil we are manipulated to talk in in terms of “diversity, differences, and tolerance” which totally cuts out or neuters moral right and wrong.
If there is no absolute moral right and wrong to inform men’s consciences which is the faculty in man that helps him distinguish between right and wrong, good and evil, he then can no longer be held accountable for his actions. This is the whole idea behind the politically correct version of tolerance. It is their attempt to get us to live with evil and moral wrong. It alters man’s moral compass or conscience. This brand of tolerance is a neutralizing tool for destroying an individual’s ability to understand reality in terms of good and evil and no longer react properly to good and evil. Jesus put it this way in John 3:19-21, “19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.”
It is in reality Cultural Marxism at work in America, which is Marxism translated into cultural terms. In cultures where Marxism is the rule and government, dissidence is punished and the population is beaten down with government oppression. Cultural Marxism is a hammer used to enforce the values of the collective over an individual’s rights. As it gets ingrained in the culture people become afraid to disagree or speak out. People begin to act as if a gag order has been instituted and they begin to self-censor. An invisible censorship gag is placed within the person between his thoughts and what he says.
Dear Christian brother and sister it is time to follow the prophet Isaiah’s appeal in Isaiah 58:1, 12, “Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins. 12 And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.”
