Proverb 15:23 A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: and a word spoken in due season, how good is it!
Joy, which is cheerfulness, gladness, and calm delight is available for every Christian to experience or walk in. According to Proverb 15:23, it is related to how we respond or answer things. How our faith speaks, answering things, has a lot to do with joy. The spirit of faith borne into our hearts at the time we receive Jesus as Lord is released by believing God’s Word and speaking it, 2 Corinthians 4:13, “We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak.” When we face adversity, trouble, trials, and sickness we have faith from God we are to use to bring us to victory over them.
We can have joy by the answer (reply; response) of our mouth. Joy is in us, in the fruit of our spirit (Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace …) so how we respond, reply, or answer the things we feel and see by our faith in God’s Word, either awakens it or smothers it.
Remember joy has a voice (Jeremiah 33:11) or joy is voiced to awaken it or release it. Don’t go silent when you face adversity, trouble, trials, and affliction with sickness. Speak what you believe, answer it, and have joy. It will bring strength to you (Nehemiah 8:10).
