WHEN YOU FEEL LIKE QUITTING

But they that wait (hope) upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint Isaiah 40:31.

It happens to everyone. We get tired and feel like quitting. Our happiest moments dissipate; our energy suddenly dissolves; our excitement over accomplishing something or being committed to something is gone; we still have a dream but we’ve lost motivation to achieve it. The good news is that we can get the desire and motivation back and be renewed. Our God can cause hope to abound in our heart and with hope, desire and motivation will return. “But they that wait (hope) upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint Isaiah 40:31.”

There was a time we were without Christ, without God, without a covenant, without promises, and without hope in this world. Ephesians 2:11-13 says, “11 Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; 12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: 13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.”

That time of having no hope is gone. We have hope because we have promises; we have promises because we have a covenant with God; we have a covenant with God because we have the Blood of Jesus. God can cause hope to abound in our hearts by the power of the Holy Ghost when we believe His promises or put out faith in God. Wait upon the Lord as you feed upon the promises of His Word and He will renew your strength and give you hope. Romans 15:13 says, “Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.” Discouragement, depression, and despair can leave our heart and be replaced by hope, joy, and peace.

Quitting only brings relief from responsibility; fighting the fight of faith can bring the kind of victory that relieves everything. First John 5:4 says, “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.” Go to His promises and you will find hope beyond this natural world. If God hasn’t told you to quit, then don’t quit; find the way forward.
