I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth Psalm 34:1.
From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the Lord’s name is to be praised Psalm 113:3.
There is a certain dimension of satisfaction intended by God for every believer to experience that cannot be found anywhere else except in praise. Satisfaction is always related to fulfillment of purpose or when something fulfills its intended use. God created us for praise, “…for thy pleasure they are and were created,” Revelation 4:11; “…they shall show forth my praise,” Isaiah 43:21; “…the people which shall be created shall praise the Lord,” Psalm 102:18. Every day and at all times He planned that we should praise Him. Not just the good times, happy times, or peaceful times but at all times.
Some claim praise is just emotionalism and so they never express themselves. Praise is not emotionalism, for it is fitting to let our emotions loose in praise and for our emotions to be affected as we praise. Praise was designed by God to affect our soul (Psalm 42:5, 11) where our emotions reside.
Emotionalism is following the dictates of one’s emotions. Allowing our emotions to be released in praise is not emotionalism; but allowing our emotions to dictate WHEN we praise and OUR LEVEL of praise is emotionalism. Emotionalism is when we enter into praise only when we feel like it and refrain from praising Him when we do not feel like it. So let’s not let emotionalism (only when we feel like it) determine our praise to the Lord.
