Colossians 1:13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
Romans 5:1-2 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: 2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
The moment a person makes Jesus the Lord of their life they are delivered from the authority and rule of darkness over their life. They are also translated into the Kingdom of God’s dear Son Jesus. Their position before God is in Christ and under Christ’s Lordship. No longer do they have to be dominated by the devil and ruled by the authority of darkness. Jesus is in charge and the One we receive from. No longer are we enemies of God by wicked works but children of God who do good works. No longer is the Believer under God’s wrath, but being justified, is now at peace with God. He has not appointed us to wrath but delivered us from the time of wrath:
1 Thessalonians 1:10 And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.
1 Thessalonians 5:9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
Every Christian, those justified by faith and at peace with God have a standing in the grace of God. Our firm, fixed, well established position in grace gives us legal rights and access to things unbelievers do not have. In legal terms in a court of law, only those who have a direct stake in a case or situation have a right to go to the courts for redress, to sue, to have a claim to damages, to be able to have their rights defended. You must have legal standing to be able to even appear before the court or to plead your case.
Spiritually, because of Jesus, we have a legal standing and are firmly established in grace with the right to come before the throne of grace, the highest court in the Universe. Our standing in grace gives us access to spiritual things (things natural eyes cannot see 1 Cor. 2:9, 10) that others do not have to remedy life’s challenges and problems. Access means admission or the right to approach and address our God. Like an admission ticket to an event, only those with an admission ticket can get in. Our standing in grace gives us access to:
- MERCY AND HELP IN TIME OF NEED
Hebrews 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
- ENABLING POWER TO DO WHAT WE ARE CALLED TO DO
1 Corinthians 15:10 But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.
- STRENGTH IN TIMES OF WEAKNESS
2 Corinthians 12:9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
- WISDOM THAT IS SMARTER THAN ANYTHING THE DEVIL CAN THROW AT US
1 Corinthians 2:6-8 Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought: But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
- PROMISES THAT GIVE US HOPE BEYOND THE NATURAL
Romans 4:18 Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be. And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah’s womb: He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.
- AUTHORITY IN THE NAME OF JESUS
Philippians 2:9-11 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
