Joshua 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
Last year is behind us and for all practical purposes there is no way we can go back to undo a single action, word, or event. Before us is a New Year and it can be the best year of our life, filled with success in every area and in every endeavor. Success is not just what the world says it is but it is, in fact, God’s will.
Don’t reject the word success just because the world uses it but define it in God’s terms. 2 Chronicles 26:5 says, “And he sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God: and as long as he sought the Lord, God made him to prosper (accomplish successfully; reach the goal; to go through).” God told Joshua if he would meditate on the Word of God day and night that he would prosper and have good success Joshua 1:8.
Success to a Christian is never the main goal but rather the byproduct of obedience. The world defines it only in terms of having a favorable outcome or satisfactory result but if you obeyed God whether the result was favorable or not you’ve succeeded. Obedience to all God’s written, planned, promised, and put in you is real success. Success is a byproduct of doing things God’s way whether you get the world’s approval, money, or fame. God sees, He is not unrighteous to forget our labor, and He is our rewarder. My prayer is that you will be obedient to all that God has planned for you and put in you for a year crowned with success.
