Psalm 33:12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord: and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.
Labor Day is an American holiday celebrated the first Monday of September to celebrate the American worker. Originally created by the Labor movement in the late 19th Century out of a time of strikes, protest, marches and violence, it had a very different focus than how it is celebrated today. The founders of the holiday were looking for two things: a means of unifying union workers and a reduction in work hours. Today it has mostly become the last three day weekend of the summer, a day of leisure, time with family, friends, and food.
America’s success is not due to government intervention, programs, and spending. America’s success is because of the blessing of God on this nation and the dedicated men and women working day and night toward their individual goals. Big government Progressives always feel they have a claim to the wealth that individual hard working Americans have created by their own efforts and initiative to fund their ever expanding government reach.
Our history has not been one where the government has built everything, created all of our opportunity, and enabled all of our individual success. More often than not they have been a hindrance. The God given rights, freedom, choices, and opportunity that hard working Americans have capitalized on have always been what has built America. May God continue to bless America and may God bless every hard working American.
