“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, for thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us,” Romans 8:35, 37.
Our present circumstances do not define us. We are defined by what God’s Word says about us whether it looks like it is so or even if we do not feel like it is so. Let God’s Word be true and everything else be a lie. Never allow yourself to be defined by other people’s opinion of you either. They don’t always see what God has put in you and has planned for you because they tend to only measure you by the natural (1 Corinthians 2:9, 10). God has prepared and planned things for you that natural eyes cannot see and natural ears cannot hear. People’s opinions will also change but God’s view of us is established in His Eternal Word. Determine that you will not allow yourself to feel sorry for yourself for we are not a powerless victim but a victor.
The Scriptures go on to say that no matter what our circumstances are they cannot stop God’s love for us. “For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord Romans 8:38, 39.”
There’s not a struggle we may face that can separate us from God’s love so I should never feel ashamed. Refuse to walk around discouraged, depressed, or down. Your future is bright, as bright as the promises of God, “But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day Proverb 4:18.”
