Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

Jesus left His disciples with the Commanded Mission of the Church to preach the Gospel to every creature and make disciples of all nations. The Early Church understood obedience to the Commission was for everybody because after hearing the Commission from Jesus here in Mark’s Gospel, “… they all went forth… Mark 16:20.” The Commission, of course, includes making disciples as Jesus stated in Matthew 28:18-20. This is the Gospel initiative.

It has been said within business organizations that, “What is everybody’s business usually becomes nobody’s business.” It becomes nobody’s business in the business world due to failing to assign specific goals and plans that somebody is responsible for.

This is described in this story about four people: Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.

There was an important job to be done and Everybody was asked to do it. Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it. Anybody could have done it but Nobody did it. Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody’s job. Everybody thought that Anybody could do it but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn’t do it. It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when actually Nobody asked Anybody.

Everybody's businessWe don’t need to be asked because we’ve already been commanded. Why not choose to be a “Somebody” who sets a goal, has a plan, and obeys the Great Commission.
