Romans 1:6 Among whom are ye also the called of Jesus Christ:

Many of God’s children feel frustrated, unfulfilled, and trapped in a job that provides a paycheck but provides little room for using all of their gifts or doing something meaningful. The reality is that most jobs we choose are too small for our spirit or all that God has put within us. We really need to connect with isn’t a job but a “calling” and “our purpose.” (There are some jobs that are also callings). The Good News is that every Christian has a calling on their life and every Christian has a purpose for their life given to us in Christ Jesus before the world began.

Romans 1:6 tells us that if we are saved, if we are born again, we are THE CALLED OF JESUS CHRIST, “Among whom are ye also the called of Jesus Christ.” A call is a summons, an invitation, and to be called aloud. Remember when Jesus said in Matthew 16:18 that He would build His Church and the gates of hell would not prevail against it, the word for “Church,” is “called out ones.” So if we are a saved, we are a member of the Church, and a “called out one.” We answered the call to SALVATION, but there is also a call to SANCTIFICATION (holiness 1 Thessalonians 4:7) and to SERVICE (1 Peter 4:10; Ephesians 2:10; Acts 13:2). We are not just “THE CALLED OF JESUS CHRIST,” but we also “HAVE A CALLING,” which simply is the the purpose of God, the will of God, and the work of God for our life.

Why not learn to say of yourself, “I’M THE CALLED OF GOD AND I HAVE A CALLING.” Whatever God has said about us we may boldly say (Hebrews 13:5, 6). Some think it is a draft instead of a call as if God will make them answer involuntarily or force them. Have you responded to His summons and invitation? When you do it will be a supreme source of joy and fulfillment.
