Proverb 28:20 A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he blessthat maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent.
As Believers in Christ Jesus we are blessed. Because we are in Christ we are Abraham’s seed and heirs according ing to the promise God gave him Galatians 3:29. Abrahams blessing was righteousness by faith along with many other physical blessings. Genesis 24:1 says that the Lord blessed Abraham in ALL things. We know Abraham walked by faith in God so we know that faith has something to do with the blessing he walked in. We too are called by God to walk in the steps of that same faith of our father Abraham Rm. 4:12.
We also should know that Abraham’s faithfulness had something to do with his blessing. Faithfulness is the reason God chose Abraham in the first place before He blessed him. He knew He could be relied upon. “Thou art the Lord the God, who didst choose Abram, and broughtest him forth out of Ur of the Chaldees, and gavest him the name of Abraham; 8 And foundest his heart faithful before thee, and madest a covenant with him to give the land of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Jebusites, and the Girgashites, to give it, I say, to his seed, and hast performed thy words; for thou art righteous Nehemiah 9:7.” God knew he would be faithful to command his household after him so that the blessing would pass from generation to generation.
Genesis 18:18-19 says, “Seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him?19 For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the Lord, to do justice and judgment; that the Lord may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.” Abraham was blessed because he had faith but also because he was faithful/reliable.
Galatians 3:9 So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.
