John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. 14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. 15 All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
One of the most valuable ministries of the Holy Ghost is that He is our Guide. He will lead or show us the way into all truth. His leading will take us to the Truth of God’s Word. When we know the truth, the truth sets us free (John 8:32). Since truth means freedom, the fastest way to freedom is to follow the Holy Ghost. The shortest distance between two points is a straight line. There is a straight line in the Spirit realm to freedom and it is the leading of the Holy Ghost.
There are some people that say they follow the Holy Ghost, but they are bound. They are wrapped up in religious knots. They are not following the Holy Ghost. If we follow the Holy Ghost, we will be free, not bound, tied up, or enslaved. We will have a liberty about our life. The truth He leads the way to will not just be truth to take care of past facts, but it will be truth to help us avoid future things. It is a future oriented truth. How many of us have learned truth after the fact? I would rather have truth before the facts. How can we get truth before the facts? Follow the Holy Ghost, allow Him to lead you and guide you into all truth.
We live in a time of deception and error with many false things people say claiming inspiration. We are warned about and exhorted to try the spirits as to their source in order to detect the spirit of antichrist which is the spirit of error (1 John 4:1-6). All thoughts, ideas, philosophies, and beliefs originate from either the spirit of truth or the spirit of error. The Holy Ghost is that Spirit of Truth and He will lead us to the objective truth of God’s Word to try every so called “inspired” speaker.
He says in John 16:13, “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth is come, he will guide you into all truth, he shall not speak of himself, but whatsoever he shall hear that shall he speak.” What we hear when the Holy Ghost speaks, He is actually getting it from the Lord Head of the Church, the Lord Jesus Christ. So when we are hearing the Holy Ghost, we are hearing what Jesus would say to us right in that instance.
The Holy Ghost will never speak of Himself. Only what He hears, that shall He speak. He is hearing it from God the Father or Jesus Christ speaking it to Him. When the Holy Ghost is ministering some truth in guiding our life we are doing what God the Father and Jesus Christ would have us do. The closer we are to the Holy Ghost the more we are going to fall in love with Jesus because He will glorify Jesus. If we want a closer walk with Jesus, we should allow the Holy Ghost to work in our life. We will not love Jesus less, we will love Jesus more.
