Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest John 4:35.
We need revelation (light/illumination) from God’s Word to see the harvest of lost souls in this dying world. We must have eyes that see the harvest before we can reap it. Jesus said to, “Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest…. Jn. 4:35.” The harvest has to be seen before it can be reaped. When we have the vision of the harvest, we understand and see things others do not see. A person with natural sight walks differently than a blind person who cannot see. The same thing is true of a person with spiritual sight vs. a person whose mind is blinded to spiritual realities. We must see the urgency of the hour and time in which we live. Psalm 119:130 says, “The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.” We need to allow the light of God’s Word about the harvest to cause us to see. We are living in a time of:
- A SUPERNATURAL HARVEST Amos 9:11-13.
In that day will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, and close up the breaches thereof; and I will raise up his ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old: (12) That they may possess the remnant of Edom, and of all the heathen, which are called by my name, saith the Lord that doeth this. (13) Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that the plowman shall overtake the reaper, and the treader of grapes him that soweth seed; and the mountains shall drop sweet wine, and all the hills shall melt.
- A READY HARVEST John 4:35-37.
Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest. (36) And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together. (37) And herein is that saying true, One soweth, and another reapeth. I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labor: other men labored, and ye are entered into their labors.
- A PLENTEOUS HARVEST Matthew 9:37.
And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. (36) But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. (37) Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the laborers are few; (38) Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth laborers into his harvest.
- A HARVEST OF THE PRECIOUS FRUIT OF THE EARTH James 5:7, 8.
Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain. (8) Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.
- A DIFFERENT HARVEST OUT OF EVERY RACE, LANGUAGE, PEOPLE GROUP, AND NATION Revelation 5:9, 10.
And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the sealsthereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; (10) And hast made us unto our God kings and priests; and we shall reign on the earth.
- A HARVEST OF NATIONS FLOWING INTO GOD’S HOUSE Isaiah 2:1, 2.
The word that Isaiah the son of Amos saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem. (2) And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the Lord’s house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it. (3) And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.
- A HARVEST OF GENTILES COMING TO OUR LIGHT Isaiah 60:1-3.
Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee. (2) For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. (3) And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.
Once you see it you must plan and prioritize your life accordingly to be one of God’s harvesters. I don’t know about you but when Jesus comes for His Church I want to be found laboring in His harvest field.
