Our mind often needs to be changed before God can do something through us because God’s thoughts aren’t always our thoughts (Isaiah 55:8) including preaching the Gospel and Evangelism. If we automatically thought the thoughts of God all the time we wouldn’t have to be instructed from God’s Word to renew our mind (Romans 12:2). In Acts 10, God had to change Peter’s thoughts toward the Gentiles before ministry could be extended through him to reach them (Other examples:  Jonah to Ninevah; disciples to Samaritans in John 4).   Our mind will actually like operating on God’s Word when we renew it and when we give it a chance to be transformed.

  1. Every creature is to be reached (Mark 16:15).

The commission says every creature (Mk. 16:15), so that means the Gospel is for the whole world. Sure, some won’t receive but that isn’t our responsibility. We are to preach and teach the Gospel to every creature.

  1. Soul winners are made not born (Matthew 4:19; Mark 1:17).

Jesus said if we’d follow Him, He’d make us fishers of men.

  1. Evangelism is for everybody (Mark 16:15, 20).

The Great Commission said “Go,” and they understood it to be everyone, because “they went”. It’s the commanded mission for everybody.

  1. The time slot of the Harvest is NOW (John 4:35; 2 Corinthians 6:1).

Man has always missed God’s time and has always said it’s not time. In Jesus’ day, they said it’s not harvest.

  1. Jesus said people want to know about Him, (John 4:35) they are ripe and ready.

We say people don’t want to hear about Jesus, but Jesus said they do. There is a ready harvest to be reaped in every culture and people group. The Apostle Paul said that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles and that they will hear it (Acts 28:28).

  1. The field is the world (John 4:35; Matthew 13:38).

The field is the world, not the church. An evangelistic spirit puts you in someone else’s world. Certainly people can be saved in Church but evangelism is primarily supposed to be about what we do when we leave the Church.

  1. We can witness with power (Acts 1:8).

Under grace, God always gives ability to fulfill every responsibility. His grace makes us sufficient for every requirement and responsibility. We have supernatural power from God to help us.
