37776228_10216456659359733_567443060443578368_nThe world needs to see a living God through a church who shares the Gospel with power. The problem is that much of the church, like Samson, won’t stay away from the “sweet” to protect the “holy.” There are certain things that we shouldn’t touch (sin/lusts of the flesh/spirit of the world) in order to protect our calling and anointing (power).

There were certain things Samson (which means awe inspiring/distinguished/sun like) wasn’t supposed to go near as a part of his vow of consecration and to protect his anointing. Numbers 6:6 says, “All the days that he separateth himself unto the Lord, he shall come at no dead body.” Samson violated this when one day, “…he turned aside to see the carcase of the lion: and, behold, there was a swarm of bees and honey in the carcase of the lion. And he took thereof in his hands, and went on eating, and came to his father and mother and he gave to them, and they did eat: but he told not them that he had taken the honey out of the carcase of the lion Judges 14:8, 9.”

Don’t be emboldened in sin just because you have others participate in it with you. Can you stay away from the taste of the sweet (pleasures of sin for a season) to protect the holy calling and anointing in your life? Without holiness we have no power to impact our society or personal strength to be culturally incorrect agents of change.
