2 Corinthians 13:8 For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth.
God is raising up in this generation those who will be uncompromisingly righteous to stand for Him in this secular and increasingly godless culture. There always comes a time when what we say we believe is put to a test. At those times our highest loyalty has to be to the Truth (Jesus is the Truth John 14:6 and the Truth is in Jesus Ephesians 4:21). To compromise the Truth is to compromise with Jesus. Second Corinthians 13:8 speaks of our loyalty to the truth of God’s Word when it says, “For we can do nothing against the truth but for the truth.”
When things aren’t clearly defined by Bible truth, in things of minor importance, and things unessential to our salvation we can make concessions. These are areas of life where no moral issue is involved and we have liberty to make concessions and as much as lieth within us to live peaceably with all men. We must, though, never compromise with what our God has clearly stated and commanded in His Word. The Psalmist said it this way in Psalm 119:126, “It is time for thee, Lord, to work: for they have made void thy law. 127 Therefore I love thy commandments above gold; yea, above fine gold. 128 THEREFORE I ESTEEM ALL THY PRECEPTS CONCERNING ALL THINGS TO BE RIGHT; and I hate every false way.”
GOD’S PRECEPTS ARE RIGHT
