And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free John 8:32
When Jesus began His earthly ministry He read from the book of Isaiah where He told of His mission which included, “… to preach deliverance to the captives and … to set at liberty them that are bruised… Luke 4:18.” Our liberty is not only what Jesus proclaimed but also what He paid a tremendous price for that nothing on this earth can provide. He defeated sin, sickness, satan, and the curse so we can be free. Freedom is ours in Christ so demand your freedom from the oppressor!
Jesus said in John 8:32, “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free,” and then in John 8:36, “And if the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.” There is no freedom without the truth, for an individual, family, or nation. The inscription upon the Liberty Bell, a symbol of the American Revolution, says, “Proclaim liberty throughout all the Land unto all the Inhabitants thereof,” from Leviticus 25:10. Our nation is free today because of truth at its foundation. Psalm 11:3 says, “If the foundations be destroyed what can the righteous do.” The erosion of truth in our culture is a direct attack to undermine our nation’s foundation.
The political movement in our day who call themselves “Progressives” is not a movement promoting progress but rather a progressive rejection of our nation’s founding. It is time to become valiant for the truth of God for our lives (Jeremiah 9:5) and get back to the guiding principles of our nation’s Founding Fathers. Any movement away from these truths and founding is a progressive movement toward the destruction of our nation.
