It happens to everyone. We get tired and feel like quitting. Our happiest moments dissipate; our energy suddenly dissolves; our excitement over accomplishing something or being committed to something is gone; we still have a dream but we’ve lost motivation to achieve it. The good news is that we can get the desire and motivation back and be renewed. Our God can cause hope to abound in our heart and with hope, desire and motivation will return. “But they that wait (hope) upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint Isaiah 40:31.”
There was a time we were without Christ, without God, without a covenant, without promises, and without hope in this world Ephesians 2:12, 13. That time of having no hope is gone. We have hope because we have promises; we have promises because we have a covenant with God; we have a covenant with God because we have the Blood of Jesus. Hope is like a hook or anchor climbers use to fasten in front of them with a climbing rope attached to it. Hope is the anchor and faith is the rope; faith needs hope and hope needs faith (Hebrews 11:1). Allow the promises of God to be your anchor out in front of you, in your future and attach your faith to it. Lay hold upon the hope set before you from a promise of God.
Refuse to quit and give up hope. Quitting only brings relief from responsibility; fighting the fight of faith can bring the kind of victory that relieves everything, “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith 1 John.5:4.” Go to His promises and you will find hope beyond this natural world. Allow hope from God’s promises to change your thinking and you will change your feeling.
