Psalm 119:126 It is time for thee, Lord, to work: for they have made void thy law. 127 Therefore I love thy commandments above gold; yea, above fine gold. 128 Therefore I esteem all thy precepts concerning all things to be right; and I hate every false way.
In our culture today, making moral judgments, saying what is right and wrong is not politically correct. Morality has become a matter of personal preference like choosing flavors of ice cream. In reality they simply replace the moral absolutes of the Bible with their own. To them making moral judgments is always a sin and tolerance is a virtue. I don’t need political correctness to inform me of what is right or wrong or to tell me how to use my words appropriate to situations. God’s Word, wisdom, and Spirit already provide that guidance.
In our churches today, there are some pastors who avoid speaking out or being a Biblical voice to current issues. Some because they feel pressured to side with their political party affiliation, their ethnicity, their race, or denomination remain silent in speaking the truth of God’s Word to social, political, or economic issues. Christians need reminded that there is another spirit working to control the course of this world (Ephesians 2:2; 1 John 4:3-6) and that one day God will judge the world in righteousness Acts 17:31, His righteousness, not the world’s version of what is right.
Believers today (weak in their faith) refuse to make moral judgments and vocalize them for fear of being labeled intolerant, racist, homophobic, or a bigot. Silence in the name of tolerance where God’s Word is violated in my view is essentially cowardice and indifference to the God some say they love. Many Christians thinking is governed by the world’s neutered version of what is morally right and wrong instead of God’s precepts which are always right about all things. To the world it is OK to kill unwanted babies due to the inconvenience they present but wrong to kill some animals even for food. It is OK to have any form of sex you want with as many partners as you want even if it promotes the spread of deadly disease yet it is wrong to encourage school children to practice abstinence. It is OK for government buildings, businesses, airports, politicians, athletes, and Hollywood celebrities to have armed security but not OK to have the same protection for our children in our schools. To them their views are absolutely right and if you challenge their views as being wrong you are intolerant and absolutely wrong. They have their absolutes yet they are the same people who reject God’s absolutes and say everything is relative. There is absolutely no tolerance if you disagree with their “politically correct” views.
It is time to wake up to the reality of evil in a world God originally made good and that we are living in a time period defined by the Bible as the Last days which are also called perilous times. It is time to submit to the Word of God as the final authority on all things. I agree with the Word of God where the psalmist said:
“For the word of the LORD is right; and all his works are done in truth Psalm 33:4.”
“Therefore I esteem all thy precepts concerning all things to be right; and I hate every false way Psalm 119:128.”
“For ever, O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven Psalm 119:89.”
