The act of giving one thing in return for another thing is what an exchange is. Something is given up in exchange for something else. Everyone in life has a fixed point which acts as a center, a pivot, or a turning point. It is that point we look at and refer to and say, “That is when things started going different, (either good or bad) since then.” Even if we lack some pivotal point, it seems like we keep going down dead end streets or trapped in endless cul-de-sac. I want you to know that there is a new fixed point available for everyone to focus on and it is the place of the greatest exchange in human history.
That new turning point took place at the Cross of the Lord Jesus Christ and what He did there is available to all who by faith receive Him as the One who died for their sins. The Great Exchange was:
Our Sinfulness – His Righteousness 2 Cor. 5:21
Our Curse – His Blessing Gal. 3:13
Our Sickness – His Healing Isaiah 53:3-5
Our Poverty – His Abundance 2 Cor. 8:9
Our Rejection – His Acceptance Eph. 1:6
Our Separation – His Oneness Eph. 2:11-14
Our Enmity – His Peace Eph. 2:15, 16
Our Death – His Life Rom. 6:23
Our Mind – His Mind 1 Cor. 2:16
What is in front of you going forward? Is it a health problem, financial problem, flesh problem, sin problem, a mental problem, or an emotional problem? What we need is a new center and starting point. The Cross is not only the center of our reconciliation with God (Romans 3:24, 25; 4:25; 5:7 9) but much more due to the Great Exchange that took place there. The Exchange was a total change of our position. Mind renewal starts here. The Cross is the center of victory and we have to go back to the cross to go forward in our life. Our faith in His work on the Cross can turn things around.
2 Corinthians 4:13 We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak.
