Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Anyone who is saved had to confess Jesus as Lord. Many who have seem to claim the benefits and blessings of salvation, and there are many, but know nothing of His Lordship. Some think it is so strange that He would have a claim on the life He saved from eternal hell and damnation. Maybe no one explained what you did when you made Jesus your Lord. Let me help you: You have committed to Jesus that you will trade your lifestyle on Earth for His all the days of your life. You’ve changed your allegiance to now live for Him, with Him in charge, Him calling the shots, being at His disposal, and turning your life over to His control. The day you quit doing that is the day you quit being a disciple or follower of His.
Salvation delivered us from the power of darkness and translated us into the Kingdom of God’s Son Col. 1:12, 13. It is a spiritual Kingdom that has come, though invisible from the natural, and yet to come into full physical existence. This Kingdom is made visible by what we show or reveal by our lives or the way we live. Second Corinthians 3:2 says, “Ye are our epistle (written message; letter) written in our hearts, known and read of all men: 3 Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.”
If people took the time to read us like a book, what would the chapters of our book say was important to us? What would they read about what we did with our time, talent, and treasure? Who would they see is Lord over our life?
