privare praise life

One of the greatest areas of lack in the lives of Christians is praise.  We not only need a prayer life but also a praise life.  Praise is powerful to cover us from many assaults of the adversary against our soul. Anyone can praise in church: in an atmosphere of praise; others praising; and while others are present.  “I will give thee thanks in the great congregation: I will praise thee among much people,” Psalm 35:18.  That is appropriate of course.

Praise is most difficult when it is most needful and that is usually when alone; not in a good atmosphere; and no one else doing it.  “I will bless the Lord at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth,” Psalm 34:1.  “By Him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name,” Hebrews 13:15. What is the foundation of private praise? Normally when God does something for us we thank Him and praise Him. Private praise would be limited if that is the only basis.

FOUNDATION #1 PRAISE HIM FOR WHAT HE HAS ALREADY DONE IN REDEMPTION BY GRACE.                                                     Give praise to the glory of His grace Ephesians 1:7. Thank Him for what He already did.  Grace is what God already did for us in Christ.  Praise him in private because:

Hath blessed us Ephesians 1:3.

Hath chosen us Ephesians 1:4.

Hath predestined us Ephesians 1:5.

Hath made us accepted Ephesians 1:6.

Hath redeemed and forgiven us Ephesians 1:7

FOUNDATION #2 PRAISE HIM FOR WHAT YOU’VE ALREADY RECEIVED                                             1 Corinthians 4:7. What do you have that you didn’t receive? Do you realize what you’ve already received in your life is made up of the contributions of others as well as God. We are a product of God and the contributions of people throughout our lives. Nothing you have started with you and it shouldn’t end with you but redound in praise to God. Praise Him for what you have already received.

FOUNDATION #3 PRAISE HIM FOR WHAT HE’S KEPT YOU FROM AND WHAT’S NOT HAPPENED         God has done good things for us even when we cannot see it. How many bad things that we see happen all around us has not happened to us because He kept us 1 Peter 1:5
