Psalm 8:2 Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.
Matthew 21:16 And said unto him, Hearest thou what these say? And Jesus saith unto them, Yea; have ye never read, Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise?
Praise is a vital proof of the true Spirit filled life Ephesians 5:18-20. The Word of God is full of exhortations as well as commands for God’s people to praise everywhere, at all times, and in everything. Praise is also a mighty weapon in our spiritual arsenal.
Psalm 8:2 says, “Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.” When Jesus quoted this in Matthew 21:16 He said, “…out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise.” Praise is one of God’s ordained ways to strengthen believers yet at the same time still (cause to desist; make to fail; to rid; make to repose or go sit down) the enemy. Notice it is a weapon the young babes and sucklings can use meaning the most vulnerable and with the least warfare experience. We don’t have to be seasoned or have past warfare experience to still our adversary.
Praise is our faith in action or one of the highest expressions of faith when it praising God for what He has done. It is also one of the easiest ways to take our attention from our circumstances and focus our eyes and mind upon our Faithful God. It can drive out distress, bring Heaven’s glory into our soul, turn dread to delight, sadness to gladness, and sorrow to song. As we praise more and more the strength of the Lord will undergird our way Psalm 71:14-16.
Psalm 71:14 But I will hope continually, and will yet praise thee more and more. 15 My mouth shall shew forth thy righteousness and thy salvation all the day; for I know not the numbers thereof. 16 “I will go in the strength of the Lord God: I will make mention of thy righteousness, even of thine only. 17 O God, thou hast taught me from my youth: and hitherto have I declared thy wondrous works.
