Luke 11:21, 22 “When a strong man armed keepeth his palace, his goods are in peace: But when a stronger than he shall come upon him, and overcome him, he taketh from him all his armour wherein he trusted, and divideth his spoils.”
I do not believe Jesus intended the Church to be on the defensive slithering around in cowardly defeat trying to keep out of the devil’s sight. When Jesus talked of delivering someone bound by demon power and from the strong man who had him bound, He said, “WHEN A STRONGER THAN HE SHALL COME UPON HIM, AND OVERCOME HIM, HE TAKETH AWAY FROM HIM HIS ARMOR WHEREIN HE TRUSTED AND DIVIDETH HIS SPOILS.” That sounds pretty aggressive and being on the offense to me. That is the nature of the same Spirit that dwells in us. The devil’s defenses (armor) cannot withstand our aggression or attack. The Great Commission was 100% attack and being on the offensive.
Let’s quit playing defense, get on the offense, preach the Gospel, reach the lost, heal the sick and deliver the oppressed. This is the same Spirit in Jesus who prevailed against the gates of hell, raised Him from the dead, and anointed us with power to be His witnesses. His Resurrection power ought to put us on the move and going everywhere to set people free. It is not Scriptural to wait for the sinners to contact us the saints. This is the nature of the Spirit that flows from the Cross and Resurrection. This is same Spirit of the Resurrection that dwells in us Romans 8:11. People who are satisfied to meet together simply to have a good time have missed the point of God giving us the Holy Ghost. Sure He is there to manifest in our gatherings but He is also to anoint our going Acts 1:8. Let’s get on the offense.
