Isaiah 33:6 And wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of thy times, and strength of salvation: the fear of the Lord is his treasure.
If there is anything that we need living in a world that is constantly changing, it is stability and strength. Time changes; people change; relationships change; families change; neighborhoods change; circumstances change; our money changes; and the challenges to our health changes. Our lives like a ship or aircraft can face waves and winds of change. For something to change would mean that it could go in either one of two directions: either more of something or less of something, from better or to worse.
The Good News is from the knowledge of God’s Word is that God’s nature, character, Word, and absolute truth’s never change, “For I am the Lord, I change not… Malachi 3:6.” He can be relied upon and depended upon. One definition of stability is the ability of an object, such as a ship or aircraft, to maintain equilibrium or resume its original, upright position after displacement, as by the sea or strong winds.
Wisdom and knowledge from God’s Word is where we will find stability and strength for our times as we put our faith in what is revealed to us from God. If something changes in our life that knocks us to and fro we can use our faith in God to resume our original upright position and maintain our equilibrium. It is wisdom to put our faith in a God Who never changes and by doing so we will find stability and strength to live in these perilous times.
