Psalm 119:9 “Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word. 10 With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments.11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart that I might not sin against thee.”
Philippians 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

We can overcome any sin and resist any temptation so sin does not have to be inevitable. The Psalmist added in Psalm 119:9 “Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word. 10 With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments.11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart that I might not sin against thee.” Jesus completed the work of holiness IN us and is made unto us sanctification (holiness) (1 Cor. 1:30) so we can perfect it (accomplish; bring about) (2 Cor. 7:1) or work it OUT in our lifestyle. When we perfect something we get good at it. Why not get good at being holy or working it out in our lifestyle?
Some leave the impression by their preaching that sin is no longer an issue for Christians. Listen to me: Sin is still deadly and it will hurt your life. Yes, the new creation, our spirit man has no trace of the law of sin and death in it, but that doesn’t mean sin is no longer an issue. We still have the flesh and Christians still get tempted and sin. There is still a devil who tempts us. The process of sanctification does not eradicate the flesh, it gives us power over yielding to it. If it eradicated it we wouldn’t need to have our mortal body glorified or our mortal body to put on immortality in the Resurrection or Rapture.

2 Corinthians 7:1 Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
