Psalm 1:1-3 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. 2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. 3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
We cannot always see the need of doing the spiritual things that create strong spiritual roots like taking time for daily meditation in God’s Word to become rooted in our relationship Psalm 1:2, 3. The need for having strong roots is revealed when we are in a storm. Some storms we can speak to; some we can go through; some we must endure. The deeper your roots, the stronger you are to endure storms. Build your root system daily and you will avoid fainting (giving up) in the day of adversity Proverb 24:10.
