Luke 6:17 And he came down with them, and stood in the plain, and the company of his disciples, and a great multitude of people out of all Judaea and Jerusalem, and from the sea coast of Tyre and Sidon, which came to hear him, and to be healed of their diseases;
Many people have wondered why divine healing is not viewed by the entire Body of Christ as being important. Many churches ignore or even oppose the teaching of the Bible on healing. A church that does not teach healing is like a school that does not teach basic reading, writing, and arithmetic. As important as those subjects are to a school’s curriculum, so is healing important to the church’s teaching.
Jesus came to this Earth to fully express the will of God. Throughout the Gospels we can see that healing is the will of God as evidenced by the works of Jesus in His ministry. We often do not see that one of the works of Jesus and ways He ministered healing was in connection with teaching and preaching the Word of God, and if people believed, they were healed. Jesus preached the gospel of the Kingdom and that covers many things but it certainly includes healing of the sick. Healing the sick was a major part of Jesus’ ministry. There seems to be a famine of the teaching of the Word of God on healing in America these days who need to hear the Word on healing now more than ever before. There are exceptions to this I’m sure but that has been my observation; in contrast, Jesus in His ministry WENT ABOUT preaching, teaching, and healing.
Matthew 4:23 And Jesus WENT ABOUT all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.
Matthew 9:35 And Jesus WENT ABOUT all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.
Acts 10:38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who WENT ABOUT doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
