Psalm 119:130 The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.
God wants His people well and as free from sickness and disease as they are free from sin. We cannot pretend there are no enemies to our health but let us also have enough faith to believe the Bible to help us defeat them. Our faith begins at the point that we come to know God’s will. Where His Word is revealed there is light to give us understanding about God’s will (Psalm 119:130). The Word of God reveals His will to us and from the following verses we can know it is His will to heal. We can look at:
CREATION (everything was very good)
Genesis 1:31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
There was no sickness in His original plan for man before sin, satan, and the curse.
COVENANT OF HEALING
Exodus 15:26 And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee.
God basically said in this covenant, “I will not make you sick for I am the Lord that healeth thee.”
Acts 10:38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
Jesus said if you’ve seen Me, you’ve seen the Father. We see Him going about doing good and healing.
1 Peter 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
Jesus paid the price as our Substitute not only for sin but also for sickness.
Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. 17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18 .They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
Jesus gave the Church a commanded mission that included healing the sick.
CITY OF HEAVEN
Revelation 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
Revelation 22:2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. 3 And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:
There is no sickness in Heaven and Jesus said to pray that God’s will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.
