WILL THE NEXT PRESIDENT KEEP AMERICA SAFE?

Psalm 11:3 “If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?”

Only God can really keep us safe but He has also ordained government to protect us as well. Our American government, founded on many Godly principles, exists for one purpose only and that is to secure the equal natural rights of its citizens (i.e. life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness). Our Founding Fathers realized that would require a government to defend and protect those rights from domestic threats and foreign threats. There are many issues in an election and many rights at stake but if we aren’t protected, kept safe, and alive none of them matter. In practical terms and realities what does that mean as we enter into this Presidential election as to what the next President will do?

1. Will they cherish Judeo Christian values as the foundation of American society?
Along with our belief in liberty, and some values from the Enlightenment, our Judeo Christian value system is what distinguishes America. This is what creates the idea of American exceptionalism or the view that our morals, our standard of right and wrong, is what makes our nation unique. Our value system links us with a belief in the Biblical God of Israel, His Commandments, His Biblical moral laws, and ultimately morally responsible to Him. It is also the foundation to our strong identification with the Jewish people and nation of Israel. We don’t look to the U.N., European Socialists, or Islamic values. We don’t substitute the moral value systems of other multi-cultures as equal in moral value. Psalm 119:128 says it clearly, “I consider thy precepts concerning all things to be right; and I hate every false way.” Do we truly believe in the motto on our money, “In God we trust.” We have not always acted in the world by our own values but that does not make them less exceptional.

2. Should rogue terror nations be confronted or dialogued with?
Peace through weakness has never worked; it is peace through strength that will keep us safe and our enemies deterred. If Winston Churchill was the British Prime Minister before World War II broke out we may have avoided Hitler’s murdering of six million Jews. Chamberlain was Prime Minister before the war started up to May 1940. He was best known for appeasing Hitler at Munich in 1938. He thought he had an assurance from Hitler not to invade other countries. After Hitler attacked Poland, he attacked France, and Chamberlain was seen as weak and indecisive. Winston Churchill was called in by common agreement of Parliament and confronted Hitler’s aggression staying on as Prime Minister until the end of the war in Europe. Will cuts in our defense budget due to a poor economy threaten our security and weaken us from taking actions like this?

3. Will the next President believe that the United States is allowed to act in the Middle East to protect our interests or on the side of Israel to protect us both from an attack from a nuclear Iran or does it need the U.N.’s permission?
Does the President believe we should pressure Israel to keep carving up its land piece by piece to appease Israel’s enemies who will never be satisfied by Israel giving up the size of its land but only be satisfied with Israel’s extinction? Israel’s history has been one that at times were scattered from their land (Jer. 16:1 13), but God said that He would gather (Jer. 16:14, 15) and plant them in their land to never be removed (Amos 9:15). He also said He would defend (Zechariah 14:1-15) and restore them (Zechariah 14:16-21). What does that have to do with an election? Nations will be judged by did they cause Israel to be scattered/pushed out of its land or parted up its land Joel 3:1, 2.

4. Will the next President clearly identify threats or does he use ambiguous terms that confuse and keep us from identifying our enemies that are out to kill us?
Can he call terrorism terrorism, Islamic terror, or is it work place violence, man caused disasters, violence from non-state actors, or the acts of militants and violent extremists. Is it the war on terror or overseas contingency operations? How can we fight an enemy we cannot identify? Political correctness is causing innocent Americans to die, and hindering the protection of American citizens.

5. Will the next President believe states have the right to enforce immigration laws so that people who come to the United States come here legally or will he have his Department of Justice sue states that attempt to enforce those laws?
How can we be “From Many, One,” or as our money says “E Pluribus Unum” if there’s no protection or standard enforced to keep us one. “From Many, One” means that whatever one’s race or ethnicity, everyone who becomes a citizen of America is to be regarded first and foremost as a fellow American. This explains why, historically, America has assimilated people of every background more successfully than any other country in the world. “From Many, One,” means that race, ethnicity, and multicultural values aren’t substituted for American values. We can appreciate and enjoy all of the good that comes from a nation full of people from multi-ethnic backgrounds but American citizenship means adhering to our Founding documents, principles, and values. We are not Italian Americans, African Americans, Asian Americans, Hispanic Americans, European Americans … We are Americans!
