But they that wait (hope) upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint Isaiah 40:31.

It can happen to anybody. We get tired and feel like quitting. Our happiest moments dissipate; our energy suddenly dissolves; our excitement over accomplishing something or being committed to something is gone; we still have a dream but we’ve lost motivation to achieve it. The good news is that we can get the desire and motivation back and be renewed. Our God can cause hope to abound in our heart and with hope, desire and motivation will return. “But they that wait (hope) upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint Isaiah 40:31.”

Many things in life can make us lose hope and motivation for running the race set before us. We ask ourselves, why should we fight to stay motivated when it seems easier to stay discouraged, down and out, or just quit. The truth is there is no reason to quit. We all know plenty of people who quit but they are still miserable and quitting did not produce the desired result. It is our focus that needs adjustment. David said in Psalm 42:11, “Why art thou cast down, O my soul? And why art thou disquieted within me? Hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise Him, who is the health of my countenance and my God.”
Quitting only brings relief from responsibility; fighting the fight of faith can bring the kind of victory that relieves everything 1Jn.5:4. “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.” This is Jesus’ victory and our faith in it. We don’t achieve it, we proceed in faith from it. Overcoming is sweeter than quitting so fight the good fight of faith.
