Galatians 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. 8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. 9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
2 Corinthians 9:6 But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.
We live in a society increasingly being shaped and geared to expect instant gratification for everything. No one wants to wait for anything. We want what we want because we want it and we want it now. The hype of high speed instant gratification living is being marketed to us repeatedly in our consumer culture. Sad to say it is even peddled by designing preachers of hype who think they have a special anointing to make things happen quicker and who can trump the processes of God. This is a dangerous mode of operating especially when it comes to spiritual things.
God’s law of sowing and reaping is a master law in the Kingdom and it works. Don’t listen to all the hype and gimmick using preachers and learn to work this law. The Spirit of God through the Apostle Paul applied this principle to giving in 2 Corinthians 9:6. We call it a law because it works every time it is put to work. Here is how it works:
No sowing – no reaping.
No seed – no harvest.
Bad seed – bad harvest.
Good seed – good harvest.
No seed sown – no right to expect or have hope of anything changing.
Seed sown – we can expect and have hope.
Some blame things on bad luck. It is not bad luck – it is probably sowing and reaping.
