thrive with god's processes

Genesis 1:28 And God BLESSED them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have DOMINION over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. 29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing SEED, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
Genesis 2:10 And a RIVER went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads.
Genesis 2:15And the Lord God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it (WORK).

When God put man (Adam/Eve) in the Garden of Eden He planned for them to be fruitful and multiply. It was an environment to thrive in not just survive in. To thrive means to flourish, to grow vigorously, to prosper, and to progress forward. He gave them four things so they could thrive:
1. He BLESSED them – a pronouncement and empowerment for their success.
2. DOMINION – the right to bear rule, subdue, and subjugate. It implied that they could take initiative which is:
a. the right to introduce a thing.
b. the action of taking the first step.
c. the authority and responsibility for beginning something.
3. SEED – the source, origin, or beginning of anything.
4. RIVER – A river that watered the Garden. The Holy Ghost is a river in us.
5. WORK – God assigned work in the Garden to dress it (till; cultivate); keep it (guard; watch over).

God’s plan was for them to increase, be fruitful, and multiply by using their dominion and seed under His empowering blessing. This was His system for them to operate or processes they were to work in order to thrive. NOTHING WOULD JUST HAPPEN. God entrusted them with this process and didn’t just miraculously make everything happen. This is how He would not only populate the Earth but also produce fruitfulness in every area of life.

There are some who believe that God in His sovereignty (an unbiblical view of sovereignty) controls everything in life. They believe that whatever God wills comes to pass and nothing comes to pass (good or bad) unless God wills it. If that were true, then we would have to attribute every tragedy, every heart breaking event, and every evil act to God. We are not like chess pieces God is moving around and orchestrating every move but rather we have choices and decisions. Much of the evil we face where we didn’t sow a bad seed and God did not will for it to happen comes from the seeds the enemy sows. The right to sow it, the right to introduce it came from the devil stealing Adam’s dominion. We face it because we live in a Fallen world, with fallen human beings, and an evil fallen being, the devil, along with his demon cohorts.

The Good News is that we are restored to a blessed position in Christ (Ephesians 1:3), we have been given authority (dominion, Matthew 28:18), a spiritual river is in us to guide us(The Holy Ghost), many fields of life to sow into (our spirit, our soul, our body, our relationships, our business, our community, our church…), and many things called seed that we can sow:
The Word of God Mark 4:16, 26-31
Faith Luke 17:6, 7
Money 2 Corinthians 9:6
Behavior (actions, thoughts, words) Galatians 6:7
We waste a lot of time looking at what is not in our our life instead of what we have as seed already in our life. Take your dominion (responsibility for beginning) and your seed (the source, origin, or beginning of anything) and start to thrive.
