DOORS OPEN BY PRAYER

doors open by prayer

The praying individual and praying Church have doors opened to them that others do not. Jesus told Peter that the Church would be given keys Matthew 16:19. Keys unlock things that are closed and close things that need to be locked. Prayer is the channel through which we can use our keys of authority to open doors.

A. THE DOOR OF FAITH
Acts 14:27 And when they were come, and had gathered the church together, they rehearsed all that God had done with them, and how he had opened the door of faith unto the Gentiles.

When the Gospel was brought to the continent of Europe the Apostle Paul was met by a woman named Lydia who is described as a woman “…whose heart the Lord opened” Acts 16:13, 14.

B. THE DOOR OF RESTORED FELLOWSHIP
Revelation 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

C. THE DOOR OF DELIVERANCE
Acts 12:5 Peter therefore was kept in prison: but PRAYER was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him. 6 And when Herod would have brought him forth, the same night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the keepers before the DOOR kept the prison. 7 And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands. 8 And the angel said unto him, Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals. And so he did. And he saith unto him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me. 9 And he went out, and followed him; and wist not that it was true which was done by the angel; but thought he saw a vision. 10 When they were past the first and the second ward, they came unto the IRON GATE THAT LEADETH UNTO THE CITY; WHICH OPENED TO THEM OF HIS OWN ACCORD: and they went out, and passed on through one street; and forthwith the angel departed from him.

In addition to Peter’s deliverance the Apostle Paul asked for prayer to be delivered from the disobedient (Rms. 15:30 32) and to be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men (2 Thess. 3:1,2).

D. THE DOOR OF MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES
1 Corinthians 16:9 For a great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries.
2 Corinthians 2:12 Furthermore, when I came to Troas to preach Christ’s gospel, and a door was opened unto me of the Lord,

E. THE DOOR OF UTTERANCE
Colossians 4:2 Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;3 Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds:4 That I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak.
Acts 16:14 And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which worshipped God, heard us: whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul.

When we need an opportunity opened up tp speak the Word into a person’s life, the lord can open up a person’s heart as well as the door of utterance.
