We need to develop a sensitivity and consciousness of the Holy Spirit Who is within us. The mighty manifestations of the Spirit are given to every Christian baptized with the Holy Spirit so that they may do the works that Jesus did and even greater works (John 14:12). Our Body has been made into His temple and dwelling:
1 Corinthians 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? 17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.
1 Corinthians 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.
2 Corinthians 6:16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
All the verses that tell us our body is His temple were written the same group that He wrote to about the manifestations in 1 Corinthians 12:1-11. Knowing He lives in us and being conscious of Him is the first step to opening ourselves up to Him manifesting His supernatural gifts. We must also realize that being a person He needs to be treated right. The third Person of the Trinity is in us and He is susceptible to personal treatment.
He can be quenched 1 Thessalonians 5:15.
He can be grieved Ephesians 4:30.
He can be resisted Acts 7:51.
He can be lied to Acts 5:3.
He can be despised Hebrews 10:29.
He can be blasphemed Matthew 12:31.
Live honorably by respecting and being sensitive to the Holy Spirit within you.
