Acts 10:38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
John 14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
Jesus said He would build His Church and the gates of hell would not prevail against it (Matthew 16:18). One aspect of the kind of church Jesus builds is that it is to be a supernatural church. He intended every member to be anointed with supernatural power and to preach the Gospel with signs following (Mark 16:20; Acts 1:8). If you remember the first body of Christ was supernaturally birthed into the Earth in the Virgin birth. I believe that was a prelude of how the Church, which is now the Body of Christ, is to be in the Earth, a supernatural Body of Christ. The church and Christianity is more than a mere religion of words. It is a supernatural life with a supernatural walk with a super¬natural God. Our God is a God who reveals and manifests Himself.
In John 14: 8 and 9, when Jesus was asked by one of His disciples to “show us the Father,” His reply was “…he that hath seen me hath seen the Father….” What did we see in Jesus’s life and ministry? We have available to us four eyewitness accounts in the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John of what they saw. Notice what the Spirit inspired them to record:
“… healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease Matthew 4:23, 24.”
“… and as many as touched Him were made whole Mark 6:53 56.”
“… He laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them Luke 4:37 40.”
“… and a great multitude followed Him, because they saw His miracles which He did on them that were diseased John 6:2.”
All through the Gospels you can see Him being moved by compassion, doing good, healing all that were oppressed of the devil; and we never see Him putting sickness on anyone. We see Him approved of God with mighty signs and wonders following His ministry. The Gospel was meant to be fully preached with mighty signs and wonders following it. Jesus said the works that He did we would do also and greater works because when He would ascend to the Father He would send the Holy Ghost. It is the same Holy Ghost that anointed Him with power to do mighty works that we receive supernatural power from (Acts 1:8).
