The Bible reveals many forms of expressions of praise such as lifting up of our hands, shouting or making a joyful noise, praising Him in the dance…. It would be good for every believer to learn the various expressions in order to develop their praise life and so that they may intelligently enter in. The TWO MOST IMPORTANT THINGS which makes praise flow the most natural, spontaneous, and without much conscious effort is:
1. THE WORD OF GOD (in your heart)
Psalm 19:8 The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes
Psalm 119:7 I will praise thee with uprightness of heart, when I shall have learned thy righteous judgments
Psalm 119:14 I have rejoiced in the way of thy testimonies, as much as in all riches.
Psalm 119:111 Thy testimonies have I taken as an heritage for ever: for they are the rejoicing of my heart.
Psalm 119:162 I rejoice at thy word, as one that findeth great spoil.
Jeremiah 15:16 Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O Lord God of hosts.
2. BELIEVING IT
Romans 15:13 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.
1 Peter 1:8 Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:
Romans 4:20 He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;
If you need to praise Him more start with getting the WORD in your heart; then BELIEVE it. Faith shouts and praises at the point of believing God’s promise. It is called the joy of faith (Philippians 1:25). The Word of God and believing it will make a praiser out of you.
