Psalm 29:11 The Lord will give strength unto his people; the Lord will bless His people with peace.
Many Believers have known the Lord to heal them, given them peace, prosper them, and comfort them, but what about strength? He will strengthen His people. Strength is a law of God, there is no weakness in His Being. We can draw upon that strength through the application of spiritual laws and principles that activate it. How you can strengthen yourself:
1. STRENGTH COMES IN RESPONSE TO PRAISE
Psalm 8:2 Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger. (Jesus quoted this verse and instead of the words ordained strength He said perfected praise Matthew 21:16)
Psalm 71:14 But I will hope continually, and will yet praise thee more and more. 15 My mouth shall shew forth thy righteousness and thy salvation all the day; for I know not the numbers thereof.16 I will go in the strength of the Lord God: I will make mention of thy righteousness, even of thine only.
Psalm 84:4 Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will be still praising thee. Selah. 5 Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the ways of them. 6 Who passing through the valley of Baca make it a well; the rain also filleth the pools. 7 They go from strength to strength, every one of them in Zion appeareth before God.
2. STRENGTH COMES FROM SPEAKING GOD’S WORD (or saying what God’s Word says).
a. David knew it.
Psalm 27:1 The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
b. Joel knew it.
Joel 3:10 Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruninghooks into spears: let the weak say, I am strong.
c. Paul knew it.
Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
3. STRENGTH COMES BY ASKING FOR IT IN PRAYER AND PRAYING
Ephesians 3:14 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15 Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, 16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man.
Colossians 1:9 For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;10 That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; 11 Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness.
Jude 20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost
4. STRENGTH COMES BY HEARING THE LORD OR HIS WORD SPOKEN TO YOU (i.e. Church)
Daniel 10:17 For how can the servant of this my lord talk with this my lord? for as for me, straightway there remained no strength in me, neither is there breath left in me.18 Then there came again and touched me one like the appearance of a man, and he strengthened me,19 And said, O man greatly beloved, fear not: peace be unto thee, be strong, yea, be strong. And when he had spoken unto me, I was strengthened, and said, Let my lord speak; for thou hast strengthened me.
5. STRENGTH COMES FROM FEEDING ON THE WORD OF GOD
Jeremiah 15:16 Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O Lord God of hosts.
Joshua 1:7 Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest.8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
