Many Believers have known the Lord to heal them, given them peace, prosper them, and comfort them, but what about strength? He will strengthen His people. Isaiah 41:10 says, “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.” Psalm 29:11 says, “The Lord will give strength unto his people; the Lord will bless His people with peace.” Who needs strength or who is a candidate for receiving strength?
1. THOSE WHO ARE ABOUT TO FAINT AND WHO HAVE NO MIGHT.
Isaiah 40:29 He giveth power to the faint (exhausted through constant labor; fatigued; weary); and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. 30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: 31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
2. THOSE WHO ARE FEELING WEAK.
2 Corinthians 12:9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.
3. THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN ABANDONED OR FORSAKEN.
2 Timothy 4:16 At my first answer no man stood with me, but all men forsook me: I pray God that it may not be laid to their charge. 17 Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me; that by me the preaching might be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion. 18 And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
4. THOSE WHO ARE GOING THROUGH TOUGH TIMES AND MISFORTUNE.
Habakkuk 3:17 Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls:18 Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation. 19 The Lord God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds’ feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places. 5. THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN AFFLICTED WITH SICKNESS.
Psalm 41:3 The Lord will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing (to fail in health; to continue in a state of suffering; to lose vigor and vitality; to waste away through grief): thou wilt make all his bed in his sickness (restore him to health).
