Proverbs 18:20,21 A man’s belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth and with THE INCREASE OF HIS LIPS shall he be filled. Death and life are in the power of the tongue and they that love it (indulge in; delight in; inclined in) shall eat the fruit thereof.
The Lord wants to bring us all to another level in our life. Another level of blessing, increase, character, power, glory, influence, effectiveness, satisfaction, and fulfillment. God wants things to turn around for us. God wants us filled up and satisfied with our life. Many have witnessed the testimonies of others and yet have not personally experienced any real significant increase in these areas. Do not lose your expectancy. The God Who gives the increase is still the God of the universe and He is your God and my God. We have to realize, though, the power of our words. Notice that satisfaction and good fruit is tied to the increase, adding something, to our lips or the words we speak. If you will increase what you do with your words in the right areas things will become noticeably different.
1. Increase your lips speaking words that – PRODUCE FAITH.
Joshua 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
Meditation is speaking the Word to yourself; not to persuade God but to fully persuade you, building yourself up in faith and to gain illumination from the Word
2. Increase your lips speaking words that – AFFIRM FAITH.
Philemon 6 That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.
Acknowledge means to give full recognition to every good thing already in you in Christ. It means to speak all the past tense facts of our redemption in the New Testament; face the facts, acknowledge the facts. Psalm 107:2 says Let the redeemed of the Lord say so. Not saying them to make them so. They will not be any more so in Heaven then they are right now. They are already facts of our redemption. Hebrews 13:5,6 says that whatever He has said, we may boldly say.
3. Increase your lips speaking words that – RELEASE FAITH.
Mark 11:22,23 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. 23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
Speak what you believe not what you see and feel. 2 Corinthians 4:13 tells us that the spirit of faith believes and speaks.
Romans 4:17 informs us that God Himself is One Who calls things which be not as though they were; not calling things which are as though they are not.
4. Increase your lips speaking words that – HOLD FAST FAITH.
Hebrews 4:14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.
Hebrews 10:23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)
In the face of opposition and in light of seeing you have a high priest in Heaven. Jesus is the high priest of our profession. Hold fast to saying the same thing the Word says and fight the good fight of faith 1 Timothy 1:18, 1 Timothy 6:12,13.
KEEP THIS IN BALANCE
This is not suggesting we use words to hide from responsibility, or neglect responsibility, or to avoid action when action is needed.
It is not to keep from going to the Lord or opening up to one another for prayer, but holding fast to our profession is for maintaining our stand of faith before the Lord:
-In the fight of faith (keeping a good report).
-In the face of satan’s opposition (not wavering).
-In light of our high priest (who is the voice of our profession in Heaven).
