I WILL NOT LEAVE YOU COMFORTLESS

no hurt can stay permanent

Luke 10:19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
John 14:16-18 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; 17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. 18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. 26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
One of the devil’s strategies to stop progress and growth in our lives is to get us to live in hurt in our emotions. Jesus, though, said there is power given to us so that no hurt has to stay permanent Luke 10:19. The power of the Holy Spirit, forgiveness, and the blood of the Lamb empowers us to release all hurt. The power of God can heal our hurt and the comfort from the Holy Ghost can soothe our pain. Jesus promised us that He would not leave us comfortless John 14:16, 17, 18, 26. His comfort is not equal to our pain but it surpasses it 2 Corinthians 1:3-5.

Hurt feelings will keep us where we are and stop us from going forward. When we are hurt we often make emotional decisions in trying to protect our feelings. These decisions may protect our feelings but they may ruin our future. They can keep us from places we should be and people we should meet. Hurt feelings can also distort our view, make us bitter towards others, and cause us to make negative judgments about the people presently in our lives God’s destined us to be with for His purposes. It can lead us to sever these Divine joining like what happened between Paul and Barnabas Acts 15:36-41.

We should not live in our hurt but rather locate our hurt and get rid of it by releasing or dismissing what people have done to us. Colossians 3:13-14 says, “ Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. 14 And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.” To forgive is to “for give” or first give; “give first” not expecting someone to do something or change before we forgive them.
