Psalm 33:6 By the word of the Lord were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth. 7 He gathereth the waters of the sea together as an heap: he layeth up the depth in storehouses. 8 Let all the earth fear the Lord: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him. 9 For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast.
Job 26:7 He stretcheth out the north over the empty place, and hangeth the earth upon nothing.
I am so thankful that the God I serve is the Almighty God, the All Powerful God, the Omnipotent God. He has the ability to do whatever He wills. If He says it or commands it, it will come to pass. He took the Earth and hung it out in space on nothing. No ropes, strings, wires, braces, or hooks, just on nothing. When we have nothing to work with, it stops us, but not God. The woman with the issue of blood in Mark 5 had suffered many things of many physicians and was “nothing,” better but rather grew worse. It didn’t stop the God we serve to healer her (Mark 5:25-34). Peter toiled all night fishing in Luke 5 and caught “nothing.” Jesus came along borrowed his boat and instructed him to cast in his nets again and he received a boat sinking load of fish (Luke 5:1-10). What a Mighty God we serve!
Nothing is impossible for our Mighty God (Luke 1:37). Imagine a God willing to do something but having no power to carry it out. When God says something or wills something He has power to make it happen. Power belongs to God (Psalm 62:11) and He is the Almighty One (Gen. 17:1). His Almightiness says to us:
There is no prayer too hard for Him to answer, so thank Him.
There is no problem too difficult for Him to solve, so thank Him.
There is no need to great for Him to supply, so thank Him.
There is no human passion (or lust) too strong He cannot subdue, so thank Him.
There is no temptation too great for Him to deliver one from, so thank Him.
There is no disease so destructive that He cannot heal, so thank Him.
There is no family problem He cannot straighten out, so thank Him.
There is no wayward child He cannot reach and turn, so thank Him.
There is no foe He cannot defeat, so thank Him.
His Almightiness is a great reason to be thankful today. What a Mighty God we serve. Happy Thanksgiving.
