True Disciples go to church

Continuing in the Word and in church go together Jn. 8:32; Acts 2:42. We cannot be a good disciple and neglect to continue also in church. We cannot exclude this as a part of what being a disciple is. Yes, we are the church but as the church we assemble.

Someone once said to me, “Why do you get so picky about little things like being in the Word and being a church attender?” My response was, firstly, “I’m not the only one who should be exhorting people according to Hebrews 10:25 which tells believers to exhort one another not to forsake the assembling of yourselves together but exhort one another all the more as YOU see the day approaching. Secondly, I said have you ever observed the degenerative process of how a person gets totally out of fellowship with the Lord starts by degrees (or little by little) and then the destructive process is quicker than the building process (grow a watermelon vs. smashing one; or building a house vs. demolishing a house; grow in your relationship with the Lord then destroy it).” The destructive processes are always quicker than the growth processes.

Don’t be a stay at home Christian and forsake the assembling of the Church together. Only the planted flourish Ps.92:12-14, “The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.13 Those that be planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God. 14 They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing.”
