THE OFFENSE PROTECTION FACTOR

OPF

Jesus said in Matthew 11:6, “Blessed is he whosoever shall not be offended in me.” We are in the Last Days and close to the return of the Lord Jesus and the time He prophesied of and they shall many be offended and shall betray one another and shall hate one another. If we are going to be blessed and be a channel of blessing to others we are going to have to handle offenses and develop an unoffendable heart. Satan uses offenses as his bait to trap us and to stop the blessing of God in our life from God’s fundamental way of bringing His will to pass in our life which is the Word of God. Offenses are things that outrage our senses and hurt our feelings.
People often use sunscreen lotion for protection against the damaging rays of the Sun that they know are out there. The protection varies according to each lotion’s SPF (Sun Protection Factor) rating from SPF 2 to SPF 100. In the same way, God’s Word is full of protection from offenses. Psalm 119:165 says, “Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them.” The Word of God has an OPF (Offense Protection Factor) rating on it that can go the full limit of forgiveness which Jesus said was 70 x 7 (Matt. 18:22). We have got to apply the offense protection factor built into God’s Word and stay full of faith for forgiveness. It isn’t always easy to forgive but it is doable.
