mind of christ

Proverb 8:12 “I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty inventions.”
1 Corinthians 2:16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

The Bible in Romans 12:2 tells us the key to experiencing a transformed life is through the process of the renewing of the mind. The renewing of the mind is not automatic but rather something that happens because we purpose to do it. No one is exempt from the need to renew their mind. The Fall of man into spiritual death and darkness affected us all (Eph. 2:1-3). We are also told in 1 Corinthians 2:16 that we HAVE, possess, or won the mind of Christ. We have it as a spiritual possession and provision of grace within our spirit man in order for it to transform our natural mind because Christ is already in us and is called the hope of glory. For this reason we should never say we cannot change.

The mind of Christ with all its potential and potency is within us. The mind of Christ is full of the wisdom of God and it is by wisdom that everything in this world was created (Proverb 8). I believe there is untapped potential within every Christian to create things because of the mind of Christ that is full of the wisdom of God within them. One of the flows of the wisdom of God is to give knowledge of witty inventions. Proverb 8:12 says, “I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty inventions.” I know most Christians could use more money and often hear them confess from Proverb 13:22 that the wealth of the wicked is laid up for the just. Could it be that the wealth of the wicked that is laid up for the just (Pr. 13:22) is to come by something we create like a product or a service? Could it be we as Christians are waiting for someone to just dump money on us while God through His wisdom and the mind of Christ in us is giving us new ideas everyday but we overlook them? I think the mind of Christ could come up with many witty things: a new song; a new technology; a new phone app; improvement to an existing product or process; advancement in a method or device; and ideas that lead to a product or service that can solve a problem or satisfies a need.

I’ve heard numerous messages on a supposed wealth transfer that is to happen in the Last Days using verses like Ecclesiastes 2:26 which says, “For God giveth to a man that is good in his sight wisdom, and knowledge, and joy: but to the sinner he giveth travail, to gather and to heap up, that he may give to him that is good before God. This also is vanity and vexation of spirit.” Once again the impression is left that it will just happen and automatically get dumped on us. Could it be that not many transfers or transactions are really happening because the key is operating in wisdom, knowledge and joy (the mind of Christ) that God gives to those that are good in His sight?

  1. Randy Robertson says:

What translation did you use for Proverbs 8:1 – 12? the trm witty inventions is not in KJ or NKJ.

    • John Rasicci says:

Sorry for the late reply Randy, I just saw your question. The KJV does have it as “witty inventions” from the Hebrew word “mezimmah.” It means a plan, thought, counsel, device, or machination (machination is a to devise, invent, scheme, or design).
