Luke 1: 28 And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art HIGHLY FAVOURED, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. 29 And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be. 30 And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found FAVOUR with God.
When we received Jesus we were placed into a POSITION of favor with God. In Christ we have favored child status. We are seated in heavenly places in Christ at the right hand of God, often called the side of favor. The EXPERIENCE of that favor from God is always given in the pursuit of His purpose for our lives. Noah (Genesis 6:8), Joseph (Genesis 39:4, 21), and the children of Israel (Exodus 12:35, 36) were given favor to advance the purpose of God in the Earth. The path of purpose (to our promised land of destiny) is the path to finding God’s favor in manifestation in our lives. In Luke 1:26-38 is another example of experiencing favor being connected to our willing obedience to God’s purpose. The Bible says Mary found favor with God because she got connected with God’s purpose and said , “…, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word … Luke 1:38.” She wouldn’t have experienced it without her willing obedience to God’s purpose for her life. We cannot claim God’s favor while we willfully reject His purpose (plan/assignment) for our lives.
Favor in this context meant that she was the object of kind regard, good will, or the recipient of a benevolent act of kindness. Favor is not just for Mary but for all the righteous in Christ Psalm 5:12. When we are recipients of favor, just like Mary (read Luke 1:26-38):
1. We are picked out v. 30.
2. We will conceive (get pregnant with a dream/destiny) v. 31.
3. We will bring forth fruit v. 31.
4. We will have greatness come out of us v. 32.
5. Others around you will be blessed v. 36
6. We will see that nothing is impossible to us v. 37.
Pursue His purpose and you will experience favor!
